Hello, MVFN members!
The MVFN iNaturalist project, “What’s in Your Backyard This Spring” project, is off to a good start! After only 10 days, 20 people have joined the project and 8 people are posting a variety of interesting nature observations in Lanark County. To date, the project members have posted 124 observations which represent a total of 83 species. So far, the top 3 taxa this spring has been birds (28 species), plants (26 species), and insects (11 species). See the graphics below for more details on the taxa distribution and the most posted species.
You do not need to be an expert to participate in this project. iNaturalists helps with identification if you can take some photos of the subject. Learn more about this project or to join go to our website for more information.
