Local Species

What species are found in our area?

Often when consulting a book of natural history for species identification,  say for example a book of bird species in Ontario, the inexperienced or even the experienced may not be sure which species might occur in the local area.

Here are species that one may expect to occur in the Lanark County area. These lists are as accurate as possible and have been provided or reviewed by local experts. Readers can then consult other resources for complete information about the species and its identification.
