iNaturalist Summary Report

In 2020, MVFN launched a Lanark County backyard nature discovery project on iNaturalist. The project continued in 2021and saw more people joining and submitting their observations. There are now 56 active observers and over 17,000 observations.

Denis Gallant, the project coordinator, has prepared a summary report for 2021. You can read it here on MVFN website.

The project is continuing, and participants can join at any time. Observers do not have to be experts as iNaturalist helps identify species from photographs.

If any member would like to help manage or curate the MVFN iNaturalist project, please contact Denis at denisag2@yahoo.com. This citizen science project could benefit by monthly contributions to the Project Journal and also from more species identifications – especially for fungi/lichens and arachnids/spiders.
