Annual MVFN Summer Walk 2013

Annual MVFN Summer Walk

We have passed summer solstice (June 21) and it is time to enjoy the seasonal bounty of wildflowers. Milkweeds, black-eyed susans, and ox-eye daisies are at peak flower, while goldenrods have not yet appeared. With the unusually wet season, novel species such as orchids will probably be at their peak. These we just have to find!

Explore the banks of the Indian River, cross it on a humongous pine log bridge, enjoy lunch at a waterfall, and have a great time with others who love nature.

Date: Sunday July 14, 2013*

Time: 10:00 am

Location: 1772 Clayton Rd. (between Ramsay Con. 3B and Tatlock Rd.), home of Cliff and Lynda Bennett. Please park on roadside and walk in laneway.

Bring: lunch, insect repellent, binoculars, field notebook, hat, sunscreen.

*Please note: if the weather is bad, the walk will be cancelled. Please call Cathy (613-257-3089) before 9:00 am if you wish to confirm the status of this walk.
