Northern Goshawk during Lanark Highlands Count

Sighting received Jan 6, 2017:  “In the late snowy afternoon of December 31, 2016, I spotted a large bird landing in a tree. After close observation, I realized it was a Northern Goshawk. It sat on a branch for several minutes and I managed to take a few pictures, albeit a bit dark and the camera was trying to focus on the branches.  That observation was included in the 2016 Lanark Highlands Christmas Bird Count, December 30, 2016.”
