Mississippi River Paddle

Paddle the Mississippi River from the bridge at County Rd 15 upstream towards Playfairville and return. This is the upstream option of  Paddle  #4 in the MVFN brochure “Lanark County Canoe & Kayak Journeys”. The journey passes by soft maple woodland, the Fall river inlet, Canadian shield countryside, and the inlet of the Clyde River.   Lunch will be on an island in the Mississippi River. The return downstream will take less time than the upstream journey.

Car Pooling Arrangements: Eastern Lanark: meet at Union Hall for departure 8:30 am; Western Lanark: meet at the boat launch site for 9:00 A.M. The boat launch site is just off County Road 15 at 400-432 McIlquham Blair Rd, Lanark, ON K0G 1K0, opposite Mal’s Camping. The site can be searched on Google maps with coordinates 45.005120, -76.326053

Bring: Picnic lunch, water, binoculars, insect repellant, sunscreen, swimming attire. You must also be equipped with mandatory life jackets and safety kit with bailer, whistle, flashlight and floating line.
