Of the 8 species of turtle native to Ontario, 6 are found in our area of Eastern Ontario.
- Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina)
- Eastern Musk Turtle aka Stinkpot turtle (Sternotherus odorata)
- Northern Map Turtle (Graptemys geographica)
- Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta marginata)
- Blanding’s Turtle (Emydoidea blandingii)
- Spotted Turtle (Clemmys guttata) :
