Normally, the suggestions for the new MVFN Board of Directors are presented and voted on at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in May. However, this year has changed so many ways we present our programs, and “do business”.
Some MVFN events have been cancelled, such as our spring bird walks, while others have been able to continue, such as our day paddling trips (first one is this Saturday), and our talks, which are presently being shown on Zoom (log in this Thursday for our June presentation!)
In spite of the restrictions of not being able to be physically together, the MVFN Nomination and Succession Committee managed to assemble an excellent list of volunteers to recommend as our new Board of Directors. Given the MVFN constitution permits the board to fill vacancies until the next AGM and the unusual circumstances of 2020, the board voted to fill existing vacancies using the list so that MVFN activities may continue.
Therefore here are the names for MVFN’s Board of Directors:

Finance Chair: Jim Atack
Program Chair: Denis Gallant
Membership Chair: Sylvia Miller

Conservation & Habitat Chair: Paul Frigon
Nature Protection Chair: Tineke Kuiper
Director at Large: Cliff Bennett
Director at Large: Stan Holloway
This board of directors will be formally presented for approval by the membership at the AGM, now schedule to coincide with the September talk, or if that is not possible, on Zoom.
A big round of applause to the Nomination and Succession Committee for recruiting a full roster!
And a gentle reminder – renewing your MVFN membership provides the BOD with the much-needed funds to continue offering a meaningful program, in whatever format we can arrange!
