An Outing for the Birds!

MVFN’s outing program is expanding to include birding outings in addition to the Early Morning outings which take place each Spring. The next birding outing for current MVFN members will take place on the 257 ha Perth Wildlife Reserve which includes Tay Marsh. We will walk an interpreted 2.5 km trail and visit the Butterfly Garden. As an extra bonus for people coming on this special outing there will be two draw prizes!

Date: Saturday, June 29, 2013*

Time: 9:15 a.m.

Location: The Perth Wildlife Reserve is located just south of Perth at 100 Wildlife Road; from Perth take County Rd. 1 (Rideau Ferry Rd.) south and turn left onto Wildlife Road.

Carpooling:

-East Lanark: Union Hall for departure at 8:30 a.m.

-West Lanark: Hopetown General Store for departure at 8:45 a.m.

Please let us know which car pool area you are going to come to.

Bring: lunch, binoculars, notebook, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, rain gear, and lawn chair. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the reserve.

Registration required: Please register beforehand with Gloria Opzoomer by phone (613-267-7896) or by e-mail (gloriapaulatxplornet.ca). Also let us know if you have any special needs.

*If the weather is poor, the walk will be cancelled and rescheduled at another time. Call Gloria before 7:30 a.m. if you wish to confirm the status of this walk.
