Early Morning Bird Walks
If the early bird gets the worm, then the early birder gets the birds!
For all MVFN members and friends; on four Wednesday mornings in April.
Time: 6 – 8 AM.
April 8: Al Potvin’s trail, end of Carss St. in Almonte
April 15: Carleton Place Riverwalk, Carleton Place arena parking lot on river side. Car pool at Esso Station-5:45 am.
April 22: Howard and Mary Robinson’s, 2645 Tatlock Road just before Clayton. Car pool at Union Hall.
April 29: Lanark Concession 12 to Taylor Lake. Car pool at Union Hall.
Dress warmly. Bring binoculars, camera.
You do not need to register for these walks. Just show up.

2014 Wednesday-morning 6 AM birding walks
Join MVFN birders to capture the first songs of spring! Every spring we plan on 4 early-morning birding walks starting at 6 am and ending by 9 am. The walks are led by Cliff Bennett.
So far in 2014 our walks have been well attended, with each of the 3 walks held to date having more than 10 participants. This is in spite of the persisting ice and cold which have meant re-arranging the schedule and the location of several of the walks.

Migrant birds are beginning to return this year but still the best time to encounter them is early morning. These early Wednesday morning bird walks are designed to be finished so you can get to work on time!
This year, we’d like to again try a very early morning owl prowl. Everyone welcome! Here are the details.

Meet at Union Hall for 4 am for car pooling (if you dare)
Wed. April 10-Early Bird Walk:
Meet at Al Potvin’s trailhead for 6 am. Al’s trail starts on Carss St. near the river.
Wed. April 17- Early Bird Walk:
Meet at Union Hall for 6 am for walk to Taylor Lake
Wed. April 24- Early Bird Walk
Meet at Union Hall at 6 am for car pooling and drive to Howard Robinsons property on Clayton Lake.

Wed. April 18: Early Bird Walk
Meet at Union Hall for 6:00 a.m. for walk to Taylor Walk.
Wed. April 25: Early Bird Walk
Meet at Union Hall at 6:00 a.m. for car pooling and drive to Howard Robinson’s property on Clayton Lake.
