6. Treasurer’s report thank you to Reiner Hollbach for donating a low

that now that EEPP has been considered as a separate identity in the
financial records, MVFN has a deficit. Discussion followed on ways to
eliminate this deficit. The Board will consider the amount of deficit at
year’s end and consider recommending a membership fee increase to the AGM
in May. Moved by Tine Kuiper, seconded by Cliff Bennett, that effective
January 2003, the fee for non members to attend to events will be increased
to $5. All in favour. Carried. Moved by Reiner Hollbach, seconded by Cliff
Bennett that the teasurer’s report be approved. All in favour. Carried.
Michael Macpherson talked about an application for charitable organization
status. MVFN might qualify on educational grounds and community service in
the protection of the environment. Moved by Michael Macpherson, seconded by
Reiner Hollbach that MVFN apply for charitable status. All in
favour. Carried. Michael and Reiner will process the application. Cliff
Bennett initiated a discussion on funding to assist the OMB hearing. MVFN
participation is for the integrity of wetlands. Moved by Cliff Bennett,
seconded by Jim Bendell that MVFN send out a letter through our email
network asking that members consider supporting financially the OMB hearing
process on the swimming pool issue in the provincially significant wetlands
in Clayton, and a copy of letter will be forwarded to the BOD for perusal
